Modern Meets the Neighborhood!​When we purchased the building in June of 2019, Bethel lost a beloved dive bar, The Funky Red Barn, an apres-ski institution known for its live music and late night dancing. We preserved the barn, but lost the funk. We painted the building a sleek cool gray, built a wine room where pool tables once stood, and bumped late night pizzas off the menu in favor of oysters on the half shell. 

 

Modern Barn welcomes you to enjoy its delicious American fare, in house butchered steaks, freshest fish, friendly service, an unparalleled cozy atmosphere and incomparable wine list.​

 

Modern Barn is honored to receive a Wine Spectator 2023 and 2021 Restaurant Award of Excellence.  Our Wine Room - features a curated collection updated seasonally of 175 bottles of wine, most available by the glass. Modern Barn also offers an impressive liquor collection, over 50 single malt scotches, contemporary cocktails and craft beers.
